I need your help! I’m trying to raise $2307.70 to purchase 3 computers for the Young Girls Middle School of Atar. It’s ambitious, but I’m trying to raise that amount by the end of this month. It would be great if the school is able to purchase the computers next month. Please help me out by making a tax-deductible donation. =D Please read below for more information on the project and Donate Here. Thanks a bunch!

Girls in Mauritania face many socioeconomic and socio-cultural disadvantages (cost of schooling, lack of resources, distance to school, gender inequity, etc…) which prevent them from attaining an education. While the goals of the girls’ middle school fall on a range of issues, the primary focus of the school is to provide an environment for girls to succeed academically. The school, however, faces many obstacles such as the lack of resources which prevents it from achieving its goals.
The objective of this project is to purchase three computers (and the necessary equipments for the computers) for the school. These computers would enable the school to meet its goals of improving the school environment for the students, decrease dropout rates, improve pedagogic methods, improve intercultural exchanges, and develop “future good mothers”.
The school is very excited to partner with Peace Corps on this project. The school will provide 25% of the total funds needed for this project. It will manage the transportation of the equipment from Nouakchott to the school, set-up space for the computers, and co-plan the training for select staff and teachers.
